Artistic Idea

The representation sees the present time in a constant connection with the past, embodying the concept of the woman in different circumstances and events, just like in a painting, where time tells its story through art, society and literature.

Madame interprets the being, while personifying an emotion: the strong will to be a woman, the strong will to be, a will that is deeply rooted in the woman's soul.

She sings her joy, her sorrow, her complex being though her body.

During the creation process, different character traits emerges: elegance, sweetness, an adored feminine figure.

The change of vision in a social context where women were considered as subordinated to the male genre, excluded from culture and education.

Development and staging 

Starting from different female characters in the history, we focused on some images in order to create shapes in space and invent a story.

The Dame's figure is connected to an esthetic and behavioral research.

Considering the complexity of a total representation, the attention is brought to her development in society, to the standards she has to fulfill, her fake smiles, her romantic gestures, her graceful look, which has nevertheless some strong and wild expressions.

We can often see her facing memories, imaginary people, missing people. Those figures represent her loneliness, her sadness for distant or even inexistent loves, glimpses of madness, lunatic behaviors.
